Autumnwatch (1 Viewer)

So, Barnacle Geese.... I thought they'd done those? WWT Caerlaverock is a bit of a one-trick pony isn't it?

(Ducks and runs away laughing)

The staff at Leighton Moss will be gutted. They have loved the attention over the last few years.

A change is good. What other places are they able to set up at - a place where they would need a large car park and a visitor centre - are there many options available?

Maybe they could set-up at Sumburgh in Shetland and follow the autumn migration from there, visiting Fair Isle, Hermaness, Fetlar and all the other top spots in the islands. Good chance of cetaceans if they have crew there for a while preparing recorded pieces.

I think I may have suggested this before but perhaps its time they went European? (I'm not suggesting they should cover the Calais migration hotspot.) Ordinary British people would probably be enthused by Gibraltar raptors, Denmark and Sweden vis mig, and no doubt lots of stuff I can't think of. Transponders on Storks maybe?

Just a thought.

I see there is an article about Autumnwatch in the new WWT magazine (just received my copy through my letterbox 10 mins ago) :-O

A goose laden fest coming up on the 2nd November - not long to go now
