Oudeland van Strijen Access (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I plan to make my first birding trip to Europe and the Neterlands this Novemeber. One of my target species is Lesser White-fronted Goose and after searching the web it looks like Oudeland van Strijen would be a good place to go. Studying the satellite photos of the area from Google I can see a main road across the middle of the site and several roads along the margins. However those roads are a fair distance from many of the sightings reported on waarneming.nl. On the photos it also appears that the area is criss-crossed by farm field roads. Are these roads accessible and if so can they be driven or must they be walked?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the West to East road you can see on the map (hoeksweg, Molenweg, Waleweg) are nice little road that you can drive around. The road going North to South (voorweg, vlaamseweg,...) can still be driven by a car but are very narrow with water on both side which can be a problem if a car is coming in front of you.

All roads are accessible and drivable – driving is the preferred way to watch geese anyway. Note that quite a few people walk there anyway. The roads are not that busy with traffic – most likely you'll meet a few birders though!

You'll likely be amazed by the amount of access that is available in the Netherlands!
