A spare eyepiece I was hoping to sell on has a little graze at its center. Its an annoyance as opposed to a critical fault, but I would like to remove it if at all possible.
No. Buffing and polishing a scratch off, will change the curvature of the lens and probably remove the coating, doing more harm than good. In the old days, an optician would put a little black lacquer on the scratch, eliminating the harmful effect and minimally reducing light transmission. You just have to live with a damaged eyepiece, whose utility has been reduced, but whose value has suffered more.
