Late Red Admiral

Our garden is sheltered from the north wind, so it is still a bit warm in the sunshine, and there were two of these beauties investigating the late buddleia.

Red Admiral today for me briefly - but only a flyby.

Your Monarch earlier - a genuine wild one (or a butterfly park?) More back story required please ... ;)
 
While sitting here at the computer I glanced out the window, and at the window this Christmas Day was a Peacock Butterfly trying to get to the bunch of Lilly flowers.
 
Bit surprised to see a Red Admiral flying outside the living room window whilst at the girlfriends folks in Wickford, Essex yesterday (Boxing Day). Bright sunshine and presumably disturbed from hibernation though.
 
Red Admiral flying at Paignton Zoo yesterday (29th).
Frog spawn on The Lizard weeks ago, think it was in November. This quite normal here.
