East Lothian Council have granted planning consent to Scottish Power to improve the Lagoons. The new plans include a new scrape with hides on the ash lagoon next to the Esk mouth and a flooded meadow to be created out of the easternmost lagoon. Plans can be seen on the ELC website

Does it include improving the access road David? LOL (Though maybe that has already been done... a while since I was last there.)

Hopefully they'll do a good job, I'm always a bit worried when I hear the word 'improvements'!;)

For the new hides you would be best to park at the rivermouth, at Goosegreen. However, they won’t be ready until the second half of next year.

Superb views of a Jack Snipe at the existing Scrapes this afternoon, watched it for a couple of hours, the best views of this cryptic wee bird I’ve ever had.
