ID for Squirrel in White Mountains? (1 Viewer)

This past week, while visiting Pinetop in the White Mountains, I saw5 or 6 beautiful squirrels. They had dark gray backs, but their undersides, from chin to tip of tail, were pure white. Their ears were sharply pointed with small tufts of hair at the tops. Some were foraging on the ground while others chattered from the trees.

They didn't appear to be the typical Arizona Grey Squirrels (because those don't seem to have white on the underside of the tails), so if someone can give me a suggestion of where to look, I'd apprpeciate it.

Sorry I don't have a picture. Left the camera at home! Arrrrrgh!

Thanks,
Nina from Green Valley
