Dear all,
At last the Red-Necked Phalerope was co-operative enough to remain on the east lagoon long enough for a lot of birders to see it. It showed well from the bank alongside Faversham Creek at 1pm feeding actively in the heat haze. A most welcome sight indeed given yesterday's visit when the Red-Necked Phalerope gave me, amongst others, the slip.
There seemed to be two drake Garganey on the east lagoon because I saw one near the phalerope and another very close to the road which was stayed until 1:45pm - then it flew towards the west lagoon.
The escaped Cape Shelduck was near to the road too along with at least two Little Egrets and a Marsh Harrier was hunting nearby.
A great afternoon out in good weather.
Lancey
