I have recently purchased the Sigma 105 f2.8 macro. I am now after a macro flash and have noticed the Sunpak brand on the web. They are a lot cheaper than the pentax brand. (I have the pentax *istD) . Has anyone had any experience at all with macro flashes?, in particular the Sunpak DX8R, or the DX12R. Appreciate any productive input! (good or bad)

I had a Sunpak flash gun many years ago and found it to be a reliable make and with more than adequate flash coverage, In those far off days ( thirty years ago) TTL flash measuring was unknown, so I have no idea what the present models are capable of achieving.
