Independent supplement

Has any members read the two freebies with monday + tuesdays the Independant,i know a few people on here bang on about the environment,I.E Global warming, Deforestation, the imminent running out of fossil fuels etc,and very rightly so.

But i wonder how many peope are so aware, what a legacy we will leave, for further generations,if theseproblems are not addressed,or is this just scaremongering.

I've seen Deforestation in action,it aint pretty, what birds would be left to see, they Quote a figure of 11% of bird species are endangered which is a pretty harrowing statistic if true.

You could try spelling the name of the newspaper correctly.

thanks Trevor, no wonder i couldn't find it...

the doom and gloom is all true of course, although i believe the true figure is 12% of birds but don't let it spoil yer night. It aint gonna change today...

despite the awful state of the planet i still feel the need to go out tonight and have a damn fine drink and possibly even shake it on the dancefloor too...

Go! Team
Tim

Hey another English as she is spoke thread!!

Don't you worry about it Hummerman.

My other half is an A&R man for an independent record distributor and, although otherwise a commendable and fine sort, he's shockingly uptight & prissy about spelling and grammar. Recently he wrote an outraged letter to Walkers Crisps for muddling up "compliment" and "complement" on the back of their lamb and mint sauce flavour crisp packets. I think it's a worse crime to have been eating such a gahstly artifice in the first place.

Anyway, if some struggling bunch of herberts send in a lovingly constructed demo and but spell the word "independant" in their accompanying letter he puts it straight on the reject pile. Another young hope cruelly dashed.

I've always found this a slightly scary intolerance and entirely against the whole punk ethos so I support your right spell it just however you fancy.

So long as you aren't trying to become the next Bogshed

If you are referring to the ‘Your Planet’ articles, it would cost me a total £15.00 ($26.45) to buy a full copy them all to read.

Reading about it isn’t going to solve anything. Get out there and do something!

However, standing up and doing something like speaking up, getting proactive will no-doubt get you noticed and labelled as a rebel, a trouble maker, as it’s always been.

Remember that little spot of trouble that befell David Bellamy at the Franklin Dam campaign, Tasmania 1983?

http://www.wilderness.org.au/campaig...klin/franklin/

No, politics and big business have us all by the ‘short and curlies’, don’t you know.

So sit back, take the weight off your feet and let it happen. Che sarà, sarà.
