newbie in the forum, here my first photo fro advice. A common spoonbill from Odiel marshes with a Panasonic Lumix FZ70. Hope acquire an astroscope and improve results...

I'd say you are off to a great start looking at this beautiful Spoonbill image. A great view of this well detailed image guy.
 
You have some nice feather details on this, and good reflection.
 
Nice capture ! Most things are spot on but as you have probably taken this from a hide you have little choice about the point of view from where it's taken.In the majority of occasions always get down to the same level as the subject unless you have a specific shot in mind that requires a different angle.
