Why don’t finches like my feeder? (1 Viewer)

I have a all black metal mesh feeder with a clear plastic hood that I keep filled with quality nijer seed and it just gets ignored. I’ve moved it to a location where it’s away from the other feeders. Suggestions?

You'll also find that if anyone nearby is offering ready shelled seeds, they will go for the easy option first and only then, usually, will they move on to the seeds that require a bit more work.

I've given up with my nijer seed feeder, the local finches are only interested in my other feeders, which contain sunflower hearts.
