Little Egret ringed (1 Viewer)

We had one on my local patch (London Wetland Centre, Barnes) recently. It was ringed by Mid-Lincs RG as a nestling, sex unknown on 10-Jun-2013 19:30:00 at North Cotes, Lincolnshire, UK.
The details were sent quite quickly so it will be interesting to hear the origins of your bird.

I would be inbterested to hear the details when you get them - ring.ac is the best portal. There has been a long term colour ringing project at a Little Egret nest colony in Co Galway, which is the most likely source, run by John Lusby & Chris Benson.

They have had some very interesting re-sightings, from the Azores to Iceland!

Just out of interest here is a link to a summary of the Little Egret recoveries for Little Egret for Britain & Ireland.

https://app.bto.org/ring/countyrec/resultsall/rec1190all.htm

I trapped the very first one for Britain way back in Apr 1970 in a mist net across the pond at Portland Bird Observatory. It took 28 years before the next ones, when 3 pulli were ringed in 1998 and now (up to 2014) the ringing total stands at 1,079 (1,026 pulli) following its successful colonisation.
