I reckon not, we still refer to e.g. Germany in our atlases etc: following the locals is not compulsory.

Isn't it protocol though when there is no anglicised version, failing to call the country by it's own given name would be a bit of a snub wouldn't it, Myanmar being an example where many still use Burma to reflect their disdain of the generals?

Possibly, but I would regard Swaziland as anglicised anyway. Besides, despots should be opposed.
