I recently bought this lens second hand and I must say it's a cracker but I was after any info on TC's from anyone who has or had experiance with it.

AF speed is pretty good on my D300 but was wondering which TC would be the best, the Nikon 1.4 (bits removed) i've got seems to give up the ghost on this lens regardless of the light or do I just keep working on getting closer to the damn flighty things.

The seller said it was built in the late 90's but can't find any info on the net, so any help is most appreciated.
