bird with red on its head (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone....

I'm REALLY new to birdwatching and I have just put feeders in my garden.

Today I got a new bird..... I 'think' it's a woodpecker...... can anyone help me to identify it ? it looks like it might have had some red near its legs ....

It was at the feeder for AGES and all the blue tits and great tits stayed away whilst it was there....
