i think this is a real fabulous shot, for three main reasons:

1- the choice of the portrait crop is better than landscape for this long tailed flycatcher, and made you get just the right composition.

2- the light is so fantastic as it showed beautifully the correct colors of the bird.

3- although you used low shutter and wide open lens you got some nice details.

would be nice to know how far the bird was from you, and if you made any noise reduction for the back ground as its really clean and smooth.

Very nice image. Nice background, sharp, and good space in front of the bird.

One suggestion - you might want to lighten the background to improve the separation between the darker colors of the bird's head and the background. Use your software of choice but it's better if you can make the adjustment selectively. You might also need to reduce contrast in the background.
