I've never tried it but will dig out my Kenko in the next couple of days and give it a go. Will let you know how I get on with it.

Hi Stevo, I do not have the canon converter, I cannot remember but I believe my kendo converter made a weird noise at the time but no damage was done as I did not carry on! check my previous thread MDB2. It's on the same page from last year.
Kind regards Mike.

Sorry -don't usually look at this forum so missed the post. I've been using the Kenko Teleplus Pro300 AF 1.4X DGX with the 100mm f2.8 IS L for two years. I only really photograph odonata and have found the combination works really well. I usually shoot at f/7.1 because it means I have a slight latitude with not getting parallel to the dragon. Attached (probably in more than 1 post) are a few examples. I'm not really a photographer so they are never going to win any competitions!

I mostly use AF but occasionally when it's not bright light and in vegetation then the combination will hunt and I revert to MF - but I used to find that with the raw lens. Very occasionally the combination just stops working but switching the camera off and on again has always cleared it.

I recently (Tuesday) bought the Kenko Teleplus HD DGX 2.0x and have been trying that out. I'm pleased with that too - the Beautiful Demoiselle shot is with that.

I've had the chance to try out the Kenko Teleplus HD DGX 2.0x on the Canon 100mm 2.8isL a lot more now and am extremely pleased with it (especially in the sunshine). I have met some 'experts' who said I'd have trouble with the focussing but I'm glad to say they were wrong too!

I've absolutely no idea why I suddenly can't upload photos on BF, but suspect it's my ancient laptop's operating system... anyway, that moan aside, I've lately started using the Kenko 1.4 DGX with a Canon 100mm LIS macro on a 7D body for helleborines.

Still finding my feet with it as a combination, but I especially like the diffuse, watery backgrounds it achieves for plant photography.

A few images on my latest blog post (more regularly on @dunnjons) https://jondunnblog.wordpress.com/20...d-helleborine/
