This bird frequented our hotel grounds on the Riviera Maya.
I was convinced that it is an Osprey but the head looks wrong.
Is it a sub-species or am I completely wrong?

The Caribbean subspecies of Osprey (P.h. ridgwayi) is distinctly white-headed, so not necessarily a juv. The molt limits in the wing coverts and scapulars indicate that it is older.

Andy doesn´t the head plumage look more like dunes then feathers? Or has been done there some photo editing?
