No isolation there then Viator?
Yes and no. Not at the level of what is happening in the vast majority of Europe but that is due to how the government is handling the situation.
To give you an idea;
* the position is everyone should work from home unless it's not possible (I think it's currently around the 40-50% mark)
* entertainment, bars etc all closed
* social distancing enforced whether at restaurants, shopping centres or wherever - 1m and if not complying a fine of S$10K or 6mths jail or both (foreigners deported) can be applied
* no groups for any reason of more than 10 ppl
* borders closed to other than citizens or permanent residents (employment visa holders can apply to return but unless in an essential industry not likely to be approved)
* any returnee must quarantine for 14 days - breaching this can result in jail, deportation or in one case last weekend confiscation of a SG citizen's passport
It all is working due to the very strict tracing that takes place for any positive test result. It's done like a forensic police investigation (and it does involve the police) with the person having to give details (to the minute) of all interactions in the previous 14 days and any contact will be quarantined at government chosen location or at home - with similar legal consequences if broken or if lies are detected (which has happened)
Also the government has released an app that records on your phone all other phones you come close to (via blue tooth) which if you test positive they will access to determine who to contact as someone you might have infected.
We've been having an increase in cases over the last few days due to citizens and permanent residents returning home bringing it with them e.g. the gov ordered all local students who were studying overseas to return.
Personally, not such an impact as I had a significant knee surgery in Jan and stuck working at home anyway on Dr's orders - although I have been getting out more in the last few weeks!
