Snowy Owl Shot ... when? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Any of you guys remember the year a wildfowler shot a Snowy Owl, on the Wexford Slobs?

He said he thought it was a Goose! Aye right, ... then someone handed him back his white cane! :C

I think it was back in 1972.

I was working as a Gamekeeper in Co Meath back then, & I remember feeling totally disgusted by the story.
Just after that, on the day of a big Pheasant shoot, two guns started taking pot shots at a curious Peregrine.
I was almost sacked by the Lord for shouting at the toffs to stop!
But it was the final straw & I gave up keepering shortly after that!

I done seen the light! ;)

Cheers
Dick
