Hello, Thought I'd upload my UK life list. I'm an occasional birder, but would like to get out and about more. My list is fairly modest, missing some 'easy' species. I hope to add to it on here if and when I get any more. It currently stands at 217. Looking forward to a trip to Norfolk in May and hope to see Montagu's Harrier amoungst other things. Comments and tips welcome!

224 - Savi's Warbler.

Decided to go to The Newport Wetlands this morning to see the Savi's warbler. It was under 1 hour in the car, so thought I would get up early and give it a shot. I was rewarded with good views of the bird and enjoyed a walk around the reserve, this being my first visit. I was impressed with the centre and will come back in the future for another wander about...I'm looking towards the landmark of 250 species, but not likely to get that any time soon!

Nice list of birds haveing access to transport will allow you to see more species I,m sure try the highlands for
Golden eagle, the moorlands for red grouse, black guillemot at anglesey nr black rocks,I see you have lesser spotted woodpecker missing not seen that often and can be elusive, and a certain amount of luck for other birds.

Hello Coal Tit, thanks for your reply. Yes, I saw Little Tern in Norfolk in May - No.223. Still haven't managed to find Lesser Spotted Woodpecker yet; they're proving a bit of a bogey bird for me! I'm sure Scotland would prove worthwhile, it's just finding the time to get up there from the South West.

226 - Marsh Sandpiper

Decided to go over to Gloucestershire to try for the March Sandpiper at Frampton. There were birders already watching the bird when I arrived, so it was very straightforward and watched the bird for a while with some Greenshank. There were also a few Yellow Wagtails and and a Kingfisher which was showing well which made for an enjoyable 45mins or so.

Thanks to those who read this thread - I welcome comments!

227 - finally caught up with one of my bogey birds, Great White Egret. It's been ages since I've been out as we had a baby in early January. Found the bird at Shapwick Heath, Somerset Levels.
