My Wonderful Dad, Eddie Jones (1 Viewer)

Hello Everyone...

I am here because of my wonderful Dad, Eddie Jones, who passed away last year...

Its thanks to him that i have an interest in wildlife and birds.

My Dad was a fanatical "Twitcher" and was always making a dash for either the Scottish Highlands or the Peak District on search of a rare "tick" for his list....

A Londoner living in North Norfolk, he taught me eveything that i know.

Wonderful memories of holidays on the Scilly Isles to watch the bird migration, being woken up in the middle of the night to look at Little Owls in the garden, Days out at Minsmere and general cross country jollys !!

I miss not being able to call him to describe a new comer to my garden, not being to let him know the arrival of the first swallow and the sound of the first Cuckoo....

I am a Norfolk girl by heart, but now liviing in Wales where Buzzards sit on your fence posts and Red Kites are regulars to the area.

Wonderful memories of a wonderful man...I am here because of him :)

Hi Holly from a relatively sunny Neath today. My father got me interested in wildlife originally as well. Something that hopefully my boys will pick up as well.

Hi Holly and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father - he sounds a wonderful man. We can't replace him, but you've at least found a place to share your enjoyment of our wildlife.

Welcome to BirdForum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope you enjoy your visits.
