For those who knew Dr Jim Fowler and don't know he sadly died at the weekend in Coniston Water.

Jim is perhaps best know nationally among ornithologists for writing BTO Guide 22 - Statistics for Ornithologists. He was also a lecturer at De Montford University for many years, and latterly contributed greatly to the South Cumbrian birding scene.

RIP Jim.
