Will be in CA during June this year and have been planning a trip to area around Lake Alpine. My concern is with the snow pack this year is it going to be a worthwhile trip. Plan to be up the there w/o June 12. Hearing talk they my still be skiing in area into July.
My options
1. Stay Bear Valley Lake Alpine
2. Stay Big Trees SP area as alternate to Lake Alpine. Assuming birds would push down if weather still bad?
3. Do coastline Half-moon Bay south to Santa Cruz and do Lake Alpine next summer.
4. Do area Pinecrest Lake (did this last year and missed some birds) But if Alpine is out Sonora Pass would not even be an option in area.
Suggestions. Will be staying in Livermore so will be birding around that area including Coyotee Hills, Don Edwards, Lake DeValle, etc.
Randy.
