Got this today on my patch in St Petersburg, Russia.
It's probably Heath Fritillary but just wanted others input, habitat is open, copiced, damp heath. Upperwing lacks dark base areas I'd expect in Heath?
False Heath is possible but Nickerl's may be too?
Whichever it is, it will be an impressive eighth Fritillary sp for my patch.
