On this page, I'd be interested to know (and it should be added to the page!), what is the source (location and subspecies) of the sound recording on the page?

I don't think there's any way of knowing Michael.

In the early days of Opus I believe some of the recordings came from an outside source with no information, even as to who made the recording.

Thanks! I'd suspect in that case (given the absence of evidence of licence to use it), it should perhaps be deleted as potential copyright breach?

No, that isn't an issue. I'm hazy on the details now after so many years, but from memory I believe they uploaded the recordings themselves.
