Ive been living in Llandudno since August of 1998, and i never thought i would see a Red Kite hovering over my home, here in Craigside in llandudno.

There's a small group of them nesting in the Conwy valley, and my friend in Eglwysbach sees them on a regular basis, flying high over his home above Bodnant gardens.

This morning, enjoying a lovely cup of tea, in my lounge at 9-40am overlooking Bodavon Fields and the sea, there was this solitary Red Kite flying slowly around for around five minutes, before flying off towards the Little Orme.

Was this a very rare encounter, or is Milvus Milvus a regular visitor to the Queen of Welsh Resorts.

Lovely birds and to see. Getting much easier to see now down South. I’ve had them over my back garden in Neath and seen them over the centre of Swansea.
