It's a hybrid. Tufted x ?

Thank you. Not a clue myself. Had a look at the hybrid pages in Collins but nothing jumps out. There are Pochard and Red crested Pochard on the same small lake. Maybe Tufted x Pochard?

Tufty x Pochard for me too - the commonest hybrid duck around here.

See the reddish crown and the reddish on the flanks towards the breast, also the pale yellow iris. This is NOT Tufted x Common Pochard,
it is a typical male Tufted duck x Ferruginous duck.
