Baader Hyperion Zoom in the Kowa TS 613ED (1 Viewer)

I manage to fit an Baader Hyperion Zoom Mark IV in my old Kowa TS-613 ED, this very small and light scope, with great optics.
My solution was to use a Dremel tool with the grinding stone and took a bit of the bayonet mounts in the spotting scope body..now there is enough space so 1.25'' can get a bit deeper (actually a lot, around 10mm) in the scope and it can still use Kowa eyepieces. A quick test and it allows focusing to infinite.
Now I am planing to print an adapter in a 3D printer, that fixes in the M41 thread in the scope and the 2'' ring in the Hyperion eyepiece. I just need to figure out what is the best length for the adapter.
I hope it helps someone that wants to adapt different astro eyepieces to the small Kowa scopes. I been using the 613 many years and I am very happy with it.

You think you are going to be able to print those fine threads with a 3d printer?
i thought of this ,but i dont think is possible....I hope you prove me wrong!..I need one!
good luck

Some 3D printers have 0,1mm precision, I think that should be enough or maybe with a bit of very thin sandpaper polish the adapter. I will try to figure out and let you know!

After some changes on the scope and the eyepiece, because changing just the spotting scope it doesn't focus to infinite. I needed to cut about 0,5mm from the eyepiece like this, and be careful not to cut more that 0,5mm, has you see in the second photo.
I draw the adapter in Solid Works, I just saw some tutorials in the web. I will try to print in the next days and try to see if it works.

Here is the adapter printed..it costed 2.50€, and it works perfectly..unfortunately I wasn't sure about the external thread, so it was a bit too big so I had to sand a bit..but the scope thread 41mm with 0.75mm pitch worked perfectly in the scope. I mistake in the previous post, you can cut around 1.5 in the eyepiece but not much more and it will focus to infinite
Great eyepiece with a great scope..hope it helps!
