Dunno if there's "many" with problems, Rob - it's just that people with a grievance tend to be quicker to rush into print than people who are happy with what they've got.
Even on POTN, it's a tiny number - there isn't a single 40D Error 99 thread on the first ten pages of the forum, going back five days (I've just looked!

There are a few on DPR, but most 40D complaints seem to be about soft images (which, I'm pleased to say, isn't troubling me).
