Hello Lofoten from UK (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have just joined and I hope that a person from Lofotens, Norway can help me.
My wife and I will be arriving on Lofoten on the evening of Sunday 16th September for 3 nights.
We are keen birders and do quite a lot of bird surveys in UK for the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO).
We realise that there are many things to see and places to go on Lofotens in our short stay, but would like to fit in a birding visit during that time with key birds being Blue Throat, Snow Bunting, Capercaillie and Ptarmigan if possible. Seeing some of your birds of prey (e.g. Gyr Falcon) and owls (e.g Hawk Owl) would be an added bonus.

I am a member of Birding Pals, but do not see any others on Lofoten.
Please can you suggest where and when to see the key birds, or even better do you have a person in your group who might be willing to take us to areas where they might be seen?

Kind regards
Kevin Waterfall

Hi Kevin and a warm welcome from me too.

We do have some information about Lofoten in The Opus, which you could look at while waiting for others to advise you.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Welcome to BirdForum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope you enjoy your visits.
