Olympus Stylus 710 (1 Viewer)

Has anyone tried digiscoping handheld with the Olympus Stylus 710 (image-stabilized, high ISO)?

I'm looking to replace a Stylus 500, convinced that resolution is largely an issue of camera movement, and reluctant to go to a shutter cable and more complicated adapter.

Hi Mike!

I have tested an Olympus 800 handheld to my Swaro AT80 zoom & 20x fixed ep. In terms of vignetting it works very well (having only a 3x zoom) and in good light the images look OK, but that "image stabilized" in the Oly 800 was just horribly boosted ISO sensitivity (up to ISO2500) and shorter exp times - not "real" optical image stabilization. I am afraid that this is the case with the 710 as well.

Best regards,

Ilkka
