I saw this bird early in the morning in late April 2017 at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary. I'm guessing its some kind of Flycatcher, maybe an Ash-throated?

I'd be grateful for help identifying it.

Brown-crested might be a candidate?

Cheers

Agree with Ash-throated. Also, Brown-crested is very rare on the coastal slope of California (only 3 records in Orange County in last 10 years), whereas Ash-throated is common.
