Confused: connecting P5000 to ED82 (1 Viewer)

Picked up my Nikon ED82 scope with a DS 30x eyepiece today (Yeah!) and the Nikon P5000 is arriving on Monday (Yeah!) but I'm a bit confused as to how to connect the two.

I ordered a UR-E20 adapter for the camera but now I'm not sure how I'm going to connect that to the DS eyepiece. Nikon sells an adapter, the FSA-3, and I reckon I might need that but I'm not sure.

Has anyone got any ideas how to connect them? Any help is very much appreciated.

well, you could order a Nikon FSB-6 bracket that fits P 5000 (FSA-3 won't fit) like i did.
it's a rare item at the moment though.

Yeah, I'll get the FSB-6 eventually when it's more readily available over here - I'd just like a relatively inexpensive interim measure for the time being though.

Coolpix p5000 and FSA-3

To fit an FSA-3 to the UR-20 Coolpix P5000 accessory, you just need to put a 28mm filter in between (there's not enough thread to mesh them together direct). Even better if you have an empty 28mm filter ring - I removed the UV glass from one of mine and it works fine. Good birding, Roger
