It's amazing to me how intelligent our feathered friends really are. This post reminded me about watching Grackles in my backyard last year. My wife put out some moth balls in the garden, in a futile attempt to keep squirrels from eating her plant bulbs. One morning while watching the birds. I saw a couple of Grackles using the moth balls and rubbing them all over their body's. It's amazing how quick they learned that this keeps parasites off of them. Ahh evolution...

I guess not. They did this almost every day for about 3 weeks.
