1 & 2. These were at the top of a tree at Russian Fort Elizabeth.

3. These were in a filed at the same location. Are they Nutmeg Mannakins, or African Silverbills?

Dan,
The first looks like something endemic to the Island. The last, I have looked at it, can't decide which species, but it looks like a juvenile Lonchura.

Don't think Silverbill ever have the chestnutty back, so I'm in the nutmeg camp. Never been to Hawaii, so have no experience of Drepanids - but 1 looks like one to me!

Most of the passerines at that elevation on Kauai'i will be introduced birds. I would lean towards Northern mockingbird for #1, and nutmeg mannikin for #3.
