Landed in Malta today for a two day conference. I know, of course, that Malta has a nasty track record when it comes to birding but I read a BirdLife book on the way over and am convinced we need to come over with our bins and show them the importance of birding vs. hunting rather than freezing them out. I appreciate this is a difficult issue.

Over a two day period I saw very few birds. Only a few gulls, no ducks or geese. It was mainly Warblers and swifts. St. Julian's is very built-up and busy, next time I visit the other islands!

St. Julian's (Malta)
