Joint Birdforum Lockdown List - April and May (3 Viewers)

Totally lost track of where the list is and what's on it? Don't suppose Tree Pipit's new?

Post 153 was the last update I can find Larry and Tree Pipit wasn’t on it then. Dan is really slacking, I suspect he keeps birding through the window/ from the garden instead of slaving over a hot keyboard- what a disgrace;)

Some Bulgarian 'additions' from the last couple of morning perambulations with the dog:

Red-footed Falcon
Syrian Woodpecker
Little Bittern

Thanks Richard. Scrolling on from there I can't find anyone with Lesser Whitethroat for UK, so you can add that one too Dan (as well as Tree Pipit)

My bad. ;)

I looked earlier and realised it's just about a whole week since the last update, so yes, overdue. Organising local bird stuff, being forced to do housework and gardening, no time for birding I'm afraid.

Later tonight I reckon ...

There will also be a handful of late spring migrants which have yet to appear in the UK and other rarer birds like WB Diver etc ...

I can add Raven to the UK - can't recall if seen from the garden this month, but definitely one on a local walk. Thought I'd get that one in quick ;)

Question about the rules. do you have to be on your property when you sight the bird? Can you go cycling, and add anything you see?

I just moved to a new house today, by the way.

The lockdown rules differ by Country (and State of course), so for listing here, yes it's all or any birds seen or heard on or from your property, and on exercise by foot or bike from your property only. (we're not setting any distance constraints as areas differ)

So if you've used a motor vehicle then gone for a walk it won't count, or used public transport to get to essential work and seen a nice bird it won't count.

But anyone can post up birds or lists from areas not in lockdown, as a kind of sympathetic llsting (but under the same rules)

I don't know what we'll do when areas start coming out into phased lockdown-reduction, we'll sort that at the time ;)

I expect that mostly covers it, welcome to your New Home! Guess the list starts afresh ...

Thanks. I'll just stick with what birds I see on the property to be on the safe side. Boise Idaho does have a stay at home order until the 30th I believe.

From your attached lists I can add:
Black-tailed Godwit 04/04
Barn Owl 04/04
Raven 03/04
Red-legged Partridge 11/04
Scaup 11/04
Greenshank 04/04
Reed Warbler 11/04

Nice! If you have dates (or rough dates) I will add them in on the next update, but no worries if not. All still per the rules presumably (home or permitted exercise on foot or bike starting from home etc ...) Yes all on foot from home.
