Joint Birdforum Lockdown List - April and May (3 Viewers)

I've also had Harris's, Lincoln's and white-crowned sparrows, scissor-tailed flycatcher. Swainson's hawk, Bewick's and house wren. All on neighborhood walks over the last couple weeks.

And eastern phoebe, vesper sparrow, Lark sparrow and field sparrow. Pretty sure that's all I've got for North America thats not already on the list

so do we post here or in both forums or?

I don't see anyone collating/doing a joint list on there, so this one keeps going ... ;)

(They're different things for different purposes although some overlap).

I've updated post #153 above, slim chance it's reasonably correct now? Will do UK only later, and we have USA and Bangladesh sorted for now ... can do an overall list at any point ...

Not on lockdown here in Bulgaria, but I can add these from garden/local dogwalking if you still want input from Eastern Europe:

I think in terms of the general overall list better not to include them as it is meant as a lockdown list. But by all means post up any additions you see to this thread - interesting in itself, and may serve as a reminder to others of birds they've seen. (I'm assuming you don't want to actively go into lockdown either!)

Kittiwake, Guillemot, Fulmar and Shag all seem to be missing from the UK list. I've been seeing those all month. I also saw Manx Shearwater and Peregrine today and a Merlin on 4th.

From the US list, taking out Canada Goose, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Merganser, Turnstone, Osprey, Merlin, Raven, Barn Swallow, House Sparrow, Starling (And I assume Great Egret, Herring Gull and Whimbrel?) =13

Europe + N America + Bangladesh (-13, -7 for overlaps)

166 +124 + 35 -20 = 305 Combined?

Walking in a different park three blocks from our house this afternoon, we heard then saw a Red-shouldered Hawk, and saw two Wood Ducks. Two more birds for the April USA list.

Feel free to post ... we await Britseye's Gambia instalment in the meantime.

Thanks Dan, I will! Obviously in the spirit of solidarity I will confine my postings to birds I would have seen were we under lockdown and omit those seen further afield like Bluethroat, Citrine Wagtail, Jack Shipe, Marsh Sandpiper, Grey-headed Woodpecker etc! ;)

Keep up the good work! B :)

Chris

Common Quail joining the Scops Owls in song tonight as I poked my head out of the bathroom window should be new for the European list.

A very pleasant walk with the dog this morning added Whinchat, Lesser Whitethroat and Tawny Pipit to my year list, while a singing Savi's Warbler was both a year and a patch tick! Heard my first Cuckoo of the season too!
