Photo taken near Satara in the KNP in Jun 12.

Is this a pale phase/brown headed Wahlberg's?

Apologies for quality of this heavily cropped photo - just after dawn so poor light on a dull day and at the extreme range of the lens.

never seen a white morph with such a chocolate head but yes looks like Wahlberg's

That's a Tawny. I have a picture of a similar bird moulting somewhere in my hard drive. I have to look for it, will upload it later.
