Indeed - it has been a bit tricky birding in the Midlands this last few weeks due to the terrible rain!

The water is too deep for waders and many of the paths are impassable!

But RSPB Middleton Lakes always has great views and in this case big flocks of finches and winter thrushes :)

It isn't your fault that it is a terrible photo, it is the bird's fault because it had to dive right when you took the picture...
