What causes certain birds to stop coming (1 Viewer)

Sorry if this is a dumb question I just noticed that the blackbirds and completely halted in coming to my feeders but the bluejays have been coming in large numbers along with cardinals and house sparrows. It's something special seeing 9 to 10 bluejays together, wow beautiful

No problems just curious why the blackbirds have disappeared :(

I'm really glad you asked this, because I have been wondering this myself. I used to have a bunch of cow birds around my feeders, and now I rarely see one. I also suddenly have Blue Jays and have seen my first grackles! In my case though, I have changed types of seeds, so I wondered if that was what caused it? Or maybe it's the time of year? Or maybe certain flocks of birds move periodically?? Hopefully someone with more knowledge chimes in here. :)

thank you for the response! that may be it!

Could be molting their feathers. Most birds disappear after the breeding season to molt and grow new feathers but they will be back.
