Could someone tell me what these mean, or point me somewhere I can find out.

(PM) (Su) (W)

After the name of a bird, for example: Greater Flamingo (rare PM)

I think they refer to the bird's status i.e PM=passage migrant, Su=summer visitor, W=winter visitor, though with Greater Flamingo in the UK it should be V=rare vagrant or E=escaped bird. ;)

Most (all?) field guides will give a key to the meanings of the terminology used in that guide - though it is fairly standard.
