I should have thought about this before Christmas.
Although I've been lucky enough to do some fairly serious birdwatching on 4 continents so far, I usually consider myself to be a fairly crap birder. I certainly don't keep very up to date. I've been accessing this forum for over a year and it has become increasingly clear that there are birds knocking about that I didn't know existed - particularly new species created by splits. Are there any field guides available, covering Europe and the British Isles that are reasonably current, or at least update the various volumes that I have that are at least 10 years old?
