What is the point of any story? - e.g. the obese Little Owl story which mirrors this one in describing the intervention of humans in natural processes out of a desire to "do good" at an individual rather than population level. You commented on it to point out it was already covered, but didn't ask what the point of it was (although as it covered an introduced alien there might be even less point to it than this one).

We could have a discussion about the waste of money on small and ultimately pointless wildlife rescue centres, that could be used for effective, meaningful conservation projects if you like.... 8-P

Bit of a prickly subject - I don't get the point of hedgehogs - why can't they share?

You must agree a story about a hedgehog without prickles is pretty pointless.
