When having a clearing out of things belonging to my mum, I found this book. I thought it might be of interest.

Thanks, Melanie. I don't remember seeing this book as I was growing up, so I don't know where my mother got it.

Paul Barruel was one of my favourite bird artists, and I treasure his plates in Les Oiseaux Nicheurs d'Europe (by Paul Geroudet), and Les Oiseaux du Nord de l'Afrique (by R. D. Etchecopar & F. Hue)(with a subsequent English edition).
