First off I shall say that I'm a complete novice to the world of photography, let alone macro! However I do like tinkering around with my phone camera (Samsung s6).
I went out today with a strange brainwave..... attaching my belomo triplet loupe x10 to the phone camera! Now I'm sure my pics aren't the greatest nor am I going to pretend they are but for me at least, whilst experimenting it will do.
The two insect pictures where taken on auto. When I got home I played with the settings and used 1:1 mode and things improved slightly. That is the plant pic. Depth of field certainly is shallow and being this close to my subjects (approx 1 inch), light is tricky. That's about all I know.
Should my interest develop further, what is a good setup for a complete beginner? Any other hints and tips in my current situation would be very helpful.
