Owl (?) Sounds - Marin County, California (1 Viewer)

About an hour ago I started hearing some hoots coming from outside, and it doesn't sound like the calls I normally hear. It almost sounds like a combination between a screech-owl and a pygmy-owl (which are both relatively common around here). It kept calling for a while after I recorded the sound, and I listened to a bunch of recordings on OwlPages.com, but I couldn't find anything on there to convince me of the the identity.

Here is a link to the recording:

Hi Natalie,

I listened to your youtube post but I couldn't really tell if it was an owl, or maybe another animal as in maybe a coyote making some kind of noise. But I kind of like solving stuff so I'll try and help out ;)

Thanks for the reply... There is actually some barking in the video - one of my neighbors has an annoying little dog that starts barking whenever it hears any sort of noise, so you can hear that thing yapping at the hooting noise in the video. We do have coyotes around here, but I've never heard them where the hooting noise was coming from (which was probably less than 100 feet from the house).
