Franklin's of Laughing Gull? (1 Viewer)

Looks good for Franklin's Gull. Franklin's will molt into basic plumage, retaining a decent amount of the black hood towards the rear of the eye. Relative to the molting Laughing Gulls that are incredibly abundant in my neck of the woods right now, this gull has a sharper contrast of white feathers coming in in front of the eye. The Laughing Gulls around New Jersey right now are well underway molting head feathers, but they are more uniformly speckled with white and black/gray. Also the last photo shows a subtly different head shape from a Laughing Gull. Admittedly, these photos of the bird in this posture and lighting do make it a pretty challenging ID.
