The DJ on WPRB.com (Abbie from Mars) just announced that this band is touring the US this fall. She is a big big fan of the band and is quite excited about this news. This is the song that she is playing right now:

https://vimeo.com/36556349

It's not as noisy as I would have thought, but to be helpful I was never into them though I liked a couple of songs.

Jon and Roy

Recently added a few of Jon Middletons songs in my favourites, this being one of those songs that hits 'that special place'

Lyrics and visuals are full of meaning to me..

'' I'm heading for the other side
Where the light is always right
Where we don't have all these heavy plights
And the loving overrides
And tho' I'm told this time will never come
I want it anyhow
I'm going towards the better life
And I'm ready for it now

Pent up like water in a dam
Angry like heavy metal songs
Messed up like all this news of guns
That like to get drawn

Seeing the problems here at hand
Caught up with useless news and posts
Helpless and feeling like a ghost
Wearing nice clothes

In these modern times
where we're disconnected from
Ourselves and this land
And we're always on the run
Can we turn about and notice what we are?
Living beings in the stars''

Nice to see a post from the thread-starter there. I suspect this may be the first song on the thread from Belarus:

I enjoyed seeing this band from New Zealand last night. It seemed they'd partly come up this way to follow in the footsteps of their great-grandfather, who came from eastern Scotland:

Very nice! Talking of Manchester, and contrary to what some think, New Order is producing contemporary stuff still . here's my favourite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qW6R1uE1k8

Allegedly Finland is the happiest country in the world.
At least they have a lovely unintelligible language and an inspiring government.

So here's a song about someone who wants to kill himself on the toilet so he can die like Elvis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peulEwHTGGA

Probably the greatest comedy show ever. You could argue that the greatest quiz show ever was 'Catchphrase'. Here's something named after it's own most famous phrase:

Last night I witnessed "industrial snow" (snow formed by vapour from chemical industry) for the first time. Looks just like the real thing!
Although this is used to be so well-known from the Ruhr Area (where I live), that this not so great dance track was named after it, I actually saw it in southwestern Germany.

Think this is the second tune I've posted by this new artist from Dublin. Quite a talent:

Here's a song from Sheryl Crow's show at NPR's Tiny desk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCcmk4-FZwY&t=16m49s
She's a better singer now than when she was in the charts. I wholeheartedly agree with her introduction to the song (and the one to the next song as well).

I'm guessing you don't mean Aphrodite's Child!

Here's a song that shares its name with a well-known Aberdeenshire birding site, although at a show by the artist here last night she said it was about the area in Dundee where she used to live:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxY5qJrBEyA
Like a lot of people who do synth pop these days, she used to be a lot folkier.
